Dear All
I hope you are keeping safe and well.
If like me, you have been missing J/24 sailing this year, as the restrictions in the UK are now being relaxed, I now have three potential events in September where we can have our own start depending on numbers. It looks like the J/24 2020 season can finally begin!
These events are not qualifying events and all events are limited to 4 crew with no weigh in so for those of us who have maybe eaten and/or drunk our way through the last few months, you can breathe easy. A brief summary of the events can be found below but please do let me know if you need any more information.
At the risk of sounding boring, please can I ask you to come back to me in the first instance if you are interested in doing the events so that I can report back to the various organisers with numbers as this will affect event planning and launching and recovery options. If we do not hit the required entry numbers, you can of course enter the event but will be mixed in with other fleets.
I hope that there is something for everyone here and it would be good to see the events supported.

The event details are as follows:

Launching and Recovery: Depending on numbers, I am happy to make some enquiries if required.

Weymouth Regatta – Saturday 12 September to Sunday 13 September
Weymouth Regatta are keen to welcome the fleet back to Weymouth. We will need 5 boats for a J/24 class start.
The event details are as follows:
Entry Fee: £50
Up to 3 races on Saturday and 2 races on Sunday from Committee Boat start in Weymouth Bay windward leeward
Crew limit of 4 people
Berthing at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy, Portland at £15 per night.
Launching and Recovery: Likely to be at WPNSA but please let me know asap if you require launching and recovery for this event as I am liaising with WPNSA as they are extremely busy this weekend but will try and accommodate us as best they can. Once I have numbers, I can liaise further with WPNSA. Launching and recovery from Weymouth Sailing Club is difficult due to the neap tides.
Happy Sailing!
